Hey. I am Rebecca Rimmer Givens, a writer and analogue artist based in Warwickshire, UK. You’ll mostly find me obsessing over typewriters or tattoos.
When I’m not running my typewriter stationery and art business, I’m a monthly columnist for Skin Deep, the UK’s best selling tattoo magazine. I’ve previously contributed to Tattoodo, Tattoo Master and Things & Ink, and have represented the tattoo industry for the likes of BBC Three, Stylist Magazine, The Guardian and BBC Radio Four. My tattoo website went on to win the 2017 UK Blog Award for best arts and culture blog and I’ve been a spokesperson on the subject of tattoos at live events for Cynosure, amongst others. I’ve also worked as a tattoo model for clothing brands and photography projects. You may have seen my other non-tattoo writing in places like Minimalism Life, Oh Comely, Blogosphere Magazine and Fused Magazine.
I self-publish poetry and other ramblings with my antique typewriter, but have also been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul and Bind Collective.
My background is in arts marketing, specialising in social media. I’ve worked for Shakespeare’s Globe, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Soho Theatre, The Dukes (Lancaster) and the Corn Exchange (Newbury).
In 2014, my self-curated tattoo exhibition featured in international, national and local press – it displayed the work of 17 artists across mixed-media for a three week period in Leamington Spa with the intention of representing the diverse wealth of artistic tattoo talent present in the UK today.
