I’m Rebecca Rimmer Givens, an award-winning writer and analogue artist based in Warwickshire, UK.

I sell my handmade typewriter art online and at live events, having exhibited in the past at FarGo Village (Coventry), Art in the Park (Leamington Spa), Urban Mix Market (Stratford-upon-Avon) and Slate Art Gallery (Leamington Spa).

When I’m not running my typewriter art business, I’m a monthly columnist and journalist for Skin Deep, the UK’s best selling tattoo magazine. Over the years I’ve interviewed thousands of tattoo artists, collectors, photographers and innovators all over the world. I re-publish many of my columns on this blog.

My previous website Inkluded published hundreds of articles on the subject of tattoos and went on to win the 2017 UK Blog Award for best arts and culture blog. For many years I wrote multiple articles per day for the world’s largest tattoo website, Tattoodo, and in the past have contributed to the likes of Tattoo Master and Things & Ink. I have represented the tattoo industry for the likes of BBC Three, Stylist Magazine, The Guardian and BBC Radio Four. I’ve been a spokesperson on the subject of tattoos at live events and have worked as a tattoo model for clothing brands and photography projects.

In 2014, my self-curated tattoo exhibition featured in international, national and local press – it displayed the work of 17 artists across mixed-media for a three week period in the Midlands with the intention of representing the diverse wealth of artistic tattoo talent present in the UK today.

Tattoos aside, you may have seen my writing in places such as Minimalism Life, Oh Comely, Blogosphere Magazine and Fused Magazine. I also self-publish poetry and other ramblings with my antique typewriter, and have been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul and Bind Collective.

I’m passionate about writing with honesty and from experience. I’ve published many blogs on the subjects of health, birth, pregnancy and parenting and in 2018 launched a local charity art project to encourage discussions around motherhood and mental health.

I often use my typewriter art to fundraise and have donated sales in the past to the likes of Water Aid, Cancer Research, WWF and the South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

My background is in arts marketing, specialising in digital and social media. I’ve worked for Shakespeare’s Globe, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Soho Theatre, The Dukes (Lancaster) and the Corn Exchange (Newbury). I sometimes take on short-term digital projects (designing websites, social media management, writing and publishing digital content, etc.)
